Welcome to the Synergy website
The Systems, Networking, and Energy Efficiency (Synergy) lab is part of the
MESL lab at the UCSD Department of Computer Science and Engineering,
and is led by Dr. Yuvraj Agarwal.
Our research focus is on designing networked systems that drive energy efficiency gains at all levels. Some of our core
projects include the Energy Dashboard, which is a major effort in characterizing energy usage from the campus level
down to the plug load level. SleepServers is another project of ours that seeks to reduce IT usage.

Our lab is located at 2113 in the CSE Building EBU3B. Our graduate student office is in 2150. Dr. Yuvraj Agarwal's office is at 2116. To get to the CSE Building, check out

About Our Logo
Our logo consists of three hexagons, each repesenting a focus of our efforts. The top represents the hardware of our systems,
the bottom represents the software that runs our systems, and the right represents that our systems are meant to make positive
contributions to energy management and make the world a "greener" place. Thus our driving force is the synergy of these three.

The Energy Dashboard is now live! The website allows interactive
visualization of energy usage across the entire UCSD campus, including a detailed breakdown of the CSE building, and
monitors energy consumption of individual PCs that are deploying Somniloquy and SleepServers.
